The Excellence in Housewares Awards 2016 took place on October 5 with a glamorous Bollywood theme.
Hundreds of housewares industry 'stars' gathered in style to celebrate the achievements of retailers and suppliers. Welcoming guests, PH editor, Jo Howard reflected: "So much of today’s housewares retailing is about putting on a showstopper of a production to capture the attention of ever more demanding consumers."
Besides the usual retailer, product and supplier awards (see Winners), the event also saw the presentation of a special prize for one exceptional retailer to access the highest quality specialised retail management training. The new Oxford Summer School Award - sponsored by bira - went to Fenwick Colchester.
The Excellence in Housewares Awards are owned and organised by Progressive Housewares magazine in conjunction with the CHA. 2016 marked the 17th Excellence in Housewares Awards, which have been embraced by the industry and recognised as the 'Oscars' for the housewares trade. The awards shine the spotlight on both retailers for their retailing excellence as well as suppliers for their product innovation and service acumen.
